Best toys for 3 month old

Hello,
well I should start of by saying my baby is now 3 months old.. I've been sorting my house out a bit and am looking to buy some new toys. Now my problem is, whenever I go shopping for toys etc I come back with rubbish that really is no use at all and a big waste of money. So I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about what would be good to buy for a 3 month old, to occupy him a bit and ideally be good for him to use for a while, not just for a week...
I dont really mind about price/size etc, as long as it will be used its fine!!

the best toy for a baby this young is anything you do with him - finger puppets will be a great hit or some teething rings or chew type toys would be good soon!.
something like a fisher proce hop n pop can be nice once he can hold his head up really well and give you a few minutes of peace and quiet to get something done!
