Can i move my baby?

for the last few hours *i think* my baby has been in a very uncomfortable position, It is pretty low (I can feel hands or a head or SOMETHING moving across the area below my bump (more above the hairline...I can feel this on my hand form the outside i dont know what this really is LOL). and every so often it feels as though it is sitting on a nerve or something becasue it pinches into my back and my stomach seems to move as if the baby is turning around or something!.
Anyway my bad description of all of this aside...is it possible to "move" the baby in any way, I am 36 weeks and the baby's head is engaged (I dont know if this would make a difference).
I have tried walking around and wiggling (feel free to laugh at the thought of me wiggling my bottom int he air).
any ideas appreciated, I am not in what i would call pain but it would reaaalllyy be nice if it were possible to encourage baby to maybe budge over a bit! .
