Wierd cycles am i pregnant?

I have 2 children and we would like a 3rd, for the first two i charted with temps (around a year each time) etc but this time we have decided to just lay off contraception and see if nature will take its course. My last period came on day 26 i normally have 28-32 days cycles and was also slightly shorter and lighter than normal. It was 4 days (maybe less) whereas normally they are 6 days. On day 9 of this new cycle i had a tiny tiny amount of spotting which happened once or twice (although rarely) when i was charting during ovulation. I am now on day 23 of the new cycle but i havent had any of the normal fertility signs that i get normally have cramps and fertile cm.
Anyway i hope all of that made sense! My question was is it possible that i didnt ovulate at all last cycle(would that make the cycle shorter?) i know that a short period CAN be a sign that you are pregnant BUT i have no other signs of being pregnant and i cant even remember if we had sex at the right time last month!.
If i have short cycles now but not before this is it possible there is something causing it??
