Fruity breakfasts

Looking for ways to eat your 5 a day (or convince your toddler to!)? ,here are some fruit breakfast ideas to help you. All these ideas are suitable for toddlers old enough to eat solid food.

1.Tropical fruit salad

You need: 
1 small mango, 
1 kiwi fruit, 
1 or 2 slices of pineapple 
and 1 small banana

Peel the mango, remove the stone and cut intopieces, peel the kiwi and slice. cut the pinapple into chunks and slice the banana. Mix it all together and serve!.  

2. Blueberry breakfast

Yogurt You need: 
A small carton of natural bio yogurt, 
2 teaspoons maple syrup, 
2 tablespoons bluberries, 
2 tablespoons ofmuesli.

Mix the yoghurt maple syrup and bluberries in a bowl, squashing the berries slightly as you stir. When it is all mixed together pour over the bowl of muesli and serve.  

3.Apple and oat muffins

You need: 
175g Plain flour, 
2 teaspoons baking powder, 
40g oatmeal, 
55g light muscovado sugar, 
40g butter
 2 apples peeled, cored and diced, 
3 tablespoons raisins, 
125g natural bio yoghurt, 
125mls Milk, 
1 egg.

Preheat the oven to 200c/400f/gas mark 6. line a muffin tray with pape cases. Mix the flour, baking powder, oatmeal and sugar together, then stir in the apples and raisins. In a different bowl mix together the butter, yoghurt, egg and milk, then add to the oatmeal mix. Place the mixture into the paper cases and sprinkle with a little more oatmeal. Bake for 15 minutes until firm, then cool and serve. This recipie is suitable for freezing.  

4. Peach Smoothie

3 fresh peaches, halved and pitted, 
2 small bananas peeled and sliced,
100ml apple juice.

Put all of the ingredients into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Serve in glasses with or without ice.  

5.Carrot and apple Juice

You need:
 3 carrots peeled and chopped, 
2 desert apples, peeled, slied and chopped.

Put the carrot and apple chunks into a juicer to extract the juice. Pour into glasses and serve.
