Hospital bag checklist

This list is based on a hospital stay of around 24 hours if you are staying longer just add more of each item!

For labour

1. Camera or video camera
2. Socks
3. Your glasses or contact lenses
4. Dressing Gown
5. T-Shirt or old nighty to actually give birth in!
6. Books or magazines
7. Spray bottle
8. Birthing ball (if using)
9. TENS machine (if using)
10. Snacks and drinks (cereal bars are a good bet)
11. Money for any little things that crop up
12. Slippers

For YOU after the birth

1. Nursing Bra
2. Breast pads
3. Maternity pads
4. List of phone numbers to call!
5. A few pairs of clean underwear to change into
6. A couple of clean nighties or loose pjs
7. Nipple cream
8. Toiletries bag and make up
9. Towel
10. A small plastic jug to pour water over stiches or tears
11. Going home clothes for you

For BABY after the birth

1. 3 or 4 babygros
2. 3 or 4 vests
3. Going home outfit
4. Jacket or snowsuit (depending on the time of year!)
5. Hat
6. Scratch mittens
7. Cotton wool balls or baby wipes
8. Nappies
9. 2 blankets (cotton cellular are the best)
