Your pregnancy month four

You are now entering your second trimester your area third of the way there!. At the start of this month you should find that the symptoms of early pregnancy start to lessen and may disappear altogether, you might even start to feel quite good. During this month you will probably start to need looser clothes if not full maternity clothing, your pre-pregnancy clothing is probably getting quite snug about now. During the next trimester you might want to start to think about your options for the birth of your baby and also about how you will care for your newborn, for example will you have a home or hospital birth and will your baby be breast or formula fed?. During this month you may start to find that your breasts start to leak a small amount of colostrum although many women do not see any until the end of pregnancy or even after their baby is born, both situations are normal. You may find that your appetite is increasing or that you are craving certain foods or wanting to avoid others, regular healthy snacks can make you feel better and are good for your baby. At the end of this month you may start to feel your baby's first movements, don't worry if you don't feel anything just yet however, some women don?t feel them for another month especially if this is a first baby. By week 16 of your pregnancy you are probably visibly pregnant!.

Your baby

Your baby looks just like a baby now although still very small. At the start of this month your baby is already able to turn his legs and swallow. He is developing fingerprints and by week 15 has his own unique fingerprints. By the middle of this month your baby will be about the same size as half a banana and will be covered in a downy hair . By the last week of this month your baby has fingernails and all of his limbs and joints are in place. During this month your baby has developed a lot of the features that make him look human, he has fully formed fingers with tiny fingernails and even fingerprints. His facial features are starting to form he has just begun to grow eyebrows and if your baby will have dark hair the cells which produce the pigmentation will begin to produce their colour during this month.
