Reducing symptoms
Pregnancy symptoms can be at their worst during the first trimester but if you are suffering there are a few ways to help relieve the common complaints of pregnancy.
Morning sickness
Deep breathing A protein snack before bed Get up slowly Do some exercise every day Sea bands A teaspoon of cider vinegar in a cup of warm water Smelling ground ginger Aromatherapy: lavender, rose, or chamomile for a massage oil
Heartburn
Eat smaller, more frequent meals Remain upright for an hour after eating Drink milk Avoid spicy or greasy foods
Dizziness
Avoid standing for long periods of time lay on your side as opposed to your back When sitting return to standing slowly Don't get out of a hot bath too quickly Make sure you blood sugar isn't low, eat small protein rich snacks throughout the day
Constipation
Take regular exercise Eat plenty of fruit and vegatables Drink plenty of fluids Drink prune juice
Backache
Use proper lifting techniques Pelvic rocking Massage Sleep with pillows supporting your legs and back Heat Swimming Chiropractic help may be of use as well
Pelvic Pain
Regular exercise Plenty of rest Warm compresses at the site of pain
Insomnia
Try drinking chamomile tea before bed Try warm milk or a calcium and magnesium supplement Make sure that your room is well ventilated and your bed comfortable Massage of the head and neck may relieve tension Add two or three drops of essential oil of lavender to a base oil and use it with a massage before bed
Headaches
Rest, Exercise regularly. Excessive caffeine can cause headaches, as can caffeine withdrawal. Massaging the neck and spine may help
